COMPACT HEATER
HEATO MINI is a compact personal heater designed for desks, bedside tables and other small living spaces. Rather than heating an entire room, it delivers immediate, quiet and focused warmth directly around the user. Building on the original HEATO design language, the project explores how a familiar appliance can become smaller, softer and more naturally integrated into personal environments.

Personal Heating, Reframed
Creating a smaller heater required more than simply reducing dimensions. Airflow, internal component layout, heat distribution and acoustic performance were reconsidered to maintain efficient heating and quiet operation within a compact footprint. At the same time, the design preserves the visual refinement and intuitive character that define the HEATO family.
Balancing Function and Character
A concentrated airflow system delivers warmth efficiently within a close personal range, while three touch controls keep interaction simple and immediate. Turbo Mode provides rapid heating, while Gentle Mode maintains a softer and more sustained level of comfort. Earth-toned beige and brown speckled finishes soften the technical character of the appliance and help it integrate naturally into domestic interiors.
Extending the HEATO Family
HEATO MINI and HEATO PRO translate a shared design language across different scales and heating scenarios. Consistent proportions, interaction principles and CMF choices create a recognisable family identity while allowing each product to respond to its own functional context. Together, the HEATO series received the 2026 iF Design Award and Red Dot Product Design Award.
